Gypsy Jazz guitars have been around since the thirties. Following the D-hole model, aka Grand Bouche, by master luthier Mario Maccaferri and the legendary brand Selmer, the Oval-Hole acoustic guitar was created. This Toledo by Manuel Rodriguez from their Maccaferri series is a steel-string gypsy jazz guitar that's great value for money. Whether you prefer a classical repertoire or Django Reinhardt and his Quintette du Hot Club de France style, this Model C Cutaway guitar makes it possible.
Like all models in the Maccaferri series this guitar has a solid spruce top and a set-in mahogany neck. Like most Gypsy Jazz guitars, this Cutaway C model has a rosewood fretboard and bridge. The sound is crystal-clear with warm and creamy tonal accents. It also offers a wide dynamic range to facilitate your solos in 'La Pompe' rhythmic style, for instance. The Rosewood back and sides and bridge combine to give you more definition and sustain. This top-quality steel-string also features a 25.6-inch scale length and a 46 mm string nut width with a zero fret. In short, it's an excellent acoustic guitar for punchy rhythms as well as smooth ballads. The guitar has been setup with a new set of Argentine Gypsy Guitar strings (010 - 045) and comes complete with rigid foam lightweight fabric covered case.
