This rare 2008 Twenty Year Anniversary model has walnut back and sides with a gloriously figured maple laminate top that’s triple bound with ivoroid/black/ivoroid to accentuate the sunburst finish. The walnut neck features an ivoroid-bound rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl diamond inlays. The slotted headstock is graced by a white perloid overlay stylishly engraved with the National logo and open-gear vintage-style engraved tuners.
With the combination of the wooden Walnut body and the aluminium single cone, these reso's have an authentically vintage appeal. With fantastic low end response, the Estralita (Little Star) packs a real punch. The single cone design is great for players who like to experiment with alternate tunings and slide. They tend to have better sustain and a slightly brighter attack when compared with tricone resonators.
The guitar is in really good condition with only some slight delamination of the lacquer to the body and top to show for its years of play – this is quite a common problem with wooden body National Resonators from this period – see last 6 pictures. The guitar comes complete with its original National branded fitted hard case and some case candy.
