1998 Yamaha SG-700S - this is one of the the rocky little brothers of the acclaimed Yamaha SG-2000 that was developed back in the 1970’s. The SG-700 was reissued in 1998 as the 700S and stayed in production till 2002/3. The guitar is quite a bit lighter than the SG-2000 series, with lightweight mahogany body, set neck, rosewood fret-board and gold finish hardware.
Alnico V pickups with coil splits/Bi sound system – the original push/push tone pots have been replaced with push/pull pots. Apart from the 2 tone pots and the control knobs the guitar is all original – it does have some signs of its age with the odd small ding and scratch – really difficult to photograph on a black gloss guitar but the last 3 photographs have tried to show these….
