This is a very rare (1 of 1) Gretsch Prototype Tennessee Rose Bass Guitar. In mint condition this bass has never been played and has been kept in its case for all it life. Built in the excellent Terada factory in Japan it is a great example of what Gretsch is all about; rock solid build with tone and character for days. It comes complete with its original Gretsch hard case and the Gretsch “OK card” signed off by Fred Gretsch – a real collectors piece.
The bass has 2 FilterTron pickups are controlled by a Master Volume, a 3 way pickup selector, individual pickup volume controls and a master tone control. The medium scale 31” Mahogany neck has a Rosewood fretboard with the cool pearloid “thumb position” fret markers. The body is all Mahogany with a lovely deep stain that still lets the grain show through. A stunning and rare Gretsch bass guitar.
