1986 Guild Studio 24 Artist – A double cutaway flat top acoustic guitar, co-designed by George Gruhn – A rare Guild guitar, from back in their pre-Fender ownership days - one of only 30 produced.
The innovative double-cutaway Studio 24 marks a radical departure from traditional acoustic thinking, with a 3” deep double cutaway body, oval sound hole and a 24 fret fretboard. The design incorporates and extended neck block giving full support beyond the 22 nd fret meaning all notes up to the 24 th fret ring with a true clear tone, which you just don’t get with most cutaway acoustics.
The guitar is built with a top grade spruce top, highly flamed maple neck, back and sides, inlaid headstock, inlaid ebony fingerboard, grained pearloid binding and deluxe gold waffle back machine heads. The shallower body combined with the smaller oval sound hole result in a different sound from traditional acoustics, characterised by great projection, clarity and exceptional balance. No matter what guitar you currently play this guitar will surprise you with superb playability and a fantastic tone.
Despite being almost 40 years old the guitar is all original and in mint condition – and comes complete with its original Guild fitted hard case.
