This 1979 Fender Precision Bass in natural finish is in fantastic condition. It is all of what a '70s Precision should be with lovely natural finish Ash body, black scratch plate and a really comfortable Maple neck with Rosewood fretboard and 4 bolt "F" logo neck plate. The bass is all original with the exception of the Genuine Fender Parts Thumb Rest – serial number would indicate 1978 but the pot codes are 1979. There is one tiny ding to the back of the bass (see last picture) but other than that no sign that this bass is 45+ years old.
Sounds exactly as you would expect mid '70s Fender Precision to sound - setup is near prefect with a new set of Regular Slinky bass string on board, and with very little wear to the frets. Guitar weighs in at 4.45kg/9.9 lb (because someone always asks about the weight) and it comes complete with a period unbranded hard case. The original pickup and bridge covers did not come with the bass.
