Product Details

The Ibanez 2348 model is a Firebird style guitar - introduced by Ibanez in 1975 it was made in Japan by FujiGen from 1975 to 1977.

The 2348 features a Gibson Firebird style solid body with selected mahogany in brown sunburst finish. The bolt on one piece selected Mahogany Slim Taper neck has a 22-fret Ebony fretboard with white binding fancy pearloid position markers and black side dots.

Components includes a Tune-o-matic style bridge with a Maestro Vibrola style tailpiece, a pair of Maxon Super 70 mini-humbuckers, white pickguard with a phoenix bird inlay and the superb chrome plated individual Ibanez smooth tuners.

This 1977 model is all original with the exception of the Maestro trem arm and one of the pots which has been replaced with a period correct MIJ pot. The frets and fretboard are in great shape and the Maxon Super 70 mini humbuckers sound fantastic. The guitar has been well played over the years and this is showing in the finish to the body with a large are of buckle rash to the back and lots of small areas of finish loss around the edges (see last 7 pictures) – proper road worn play wear. The guitar comes complete with its original hard case which has seen better days – lots of gaffa tape to the rear of the case – fine for shipping the guitar and storing it safely, but doubt it will withstand 2 or 3 gigs a week.
