This Ibanez 2651CW is a rare solid body guitar model produced by Ibanez only for 1976. Made in Japan it is visually similar to Gibson's Les Paul Standard model – A great example of the premium build quality from the FujiGen factory in the 1970s these guitars do not often come up for sale
The 2651 features a single cutaway design mahogany body with a bound carved curly maple top with lovely dark Cherry Wine stain finish. The guitar has a hard laminated maple set-in neck, with adjustable truss rod, a 22-fret ebonized rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlays. The neck and frets are in great condition, with only a little visible wear on the first 4 frets. The Chrome plated hardware is all original and includes includes a pair of the fantastic Ibanez Super 70 humbucker pickup's, Tune-O-Matic bridge with chrome plated stop-bar tail-piece and Smooth tuner machine heads.
Almost 50 years old the guitar is in great condition, although there are some marks on the guitar. There are 2 small marks in the cutaway, 1 small scratch next to one of the tone control knobs and a large ding to the lower rear bottom edge of the guitar (see last 3 pictures). The guitar comes complete with its original hard case.
