Top of the regular range of Hofner archtops, this Committee E2 (2 pickup electric model) was designed to impress.
The Committee was introduced as a UK-only model around 1953/54. They sported the over-large "frondose" headstock up to 1963, when this was replaced by a President size headstock, but still retaining the the impressive "tulip" style mother of pearl inlays in the facia. The Committee retained its single Venetian (rounded) body cutaway throughout its production span, with bird's eye maple veneer used for the body back and sides and a laminated top for the electric models.
This brilliant example is all original and in great condition, although missing its original scratch plate. There are a couple of marks to show for its age; a hole to the heel edge where a strap button has been added previously and signs of a small repair to side of the guitar (see last picture).
