The Congress was the guitar that started Hank Marvin on his way to fame. With the serial number of 8956 dating this Hofner Congress guitar to 1960 this is a really nice example of this Selmer imported Hofner model.
Despite it's age the guitar is in really great condition. It does have some small wear marks to the rear edge of the body and some loss of finish to the top of the headstock - there is also some vacant holes to rear of headstock where strip tuners have been fitted previously (see last 6 pictures), but considering it is nearly 65 years old it is looking very good!
The neck has been reset (as we do with almost all our vintage Hofners) so the guitar is ready to play on for another 65+ years. Setup with a new set of strings on board and perfect action – room to move the floating bridge up or down to suit your play. Frets have been levelled and the frets and fretboard are in great shape - Comes complete with padded gig bag.
