Dating from the mid 1950s this fantastic vintage Huttl archtop was made by Wolfgang Huttl. Huttl had a penchant for particularly expressive forms and an extraordinary design - This was one of the budget range of non cutaway archtops, with dot markers and no binding to edges or sound holes, but still with beautiful pearloid veneer headstock and distinctive sickle style sound holes The hardware has all been replaced over the years, including the tuners which are of the correct vintage but maybe not original to the guitar. Despite being a "budget model" the quality of the build is still very evident and the guitar is in fantastic condition for its 66+ years of age. The neck has been reset so the guitar has very low action with plenty of adjustment still available on the floating bridge. The guitar has a couple of minor marks on lower part of the back, and small holes to edge of neck and side of guitar where a scratch plate was once fitted.
