Lovely vintage German archtop guitar which we think was made in the late 1950s by Fasan
This Fasan is a high quality vintage German archtop guitar. It is bound both to the front and back of the body, with flamed maple back and sides and a spruce top. It has been altered in the past and all the hard ware is not original. It has a modern floating pickup fitted to the scratch plate, the tuners and floating bridge are of the era but do not appear to be original to the guitar, and modern strap buttons and tail piece have been added. Furthermore the fretboard has been replaced and it has recently been re-fretted. The finish does show signs of it's age, but the gentle crazing of the lacquer on the back of the guitar looks fantastic. Please note that the guitar does have a split in the very centre of the top - guitar is still structurally sound and has not affected playability or tone, but this is reflected in the very low price for a Fasan archtop guitar
