A Rare 1932 Dobro Model 66 with its delightful Sandblasted French Scroll finished Birch body. It has a faded blond/black sunburst finish with sand blasted scroll detail that’s quite stunning to see in person. The sand blasted finish also extends to the lower part of the round neck and, unusually, also to the face of the headstock - The Dobro logo is still very clear on the front of the headstock.
The guitar is all original and is in great condition, especially considering it is approaching 100 years of age. The frets and Red Bean fretboard are in great shape – the guitar has had a neck reset so good to go for another 90+ years, and the sound produced by the resonator is loud and clear. The neck has plenty of play wear to the upper end, the finish to the body is beginning to wear away around the black edges of the top and back and there is a small hole on the heal where a strap button has once been fitted – but this all simply adds to the mojo of this rare vintage Dobro – what tales could this guitar tell? The guitar comes complete with a period correct case that has all its latches present and working.
