1980 Ibanez S300SV Dreadnought – serial number 790725
These rare handmade guitars were only produced in Japan from 1978-1980. It has mahogany sides and back, with a triple-layered spruce top with the fantastic Satin Violin finish – has a vintage Cedar look to it. The SV finish was created by gently wire brushing the top, adding a texture that followed the grain of the wood. The very soft wood is removed by the brushing and reduces the overall weight of the top (without sacrificing strength - increased power and volume)
The guitar has scalloped bracing inside, a Tru-Tone saddle, arched backs, diamond snowflake inlays, ebonised rosewood fingerboard, bone nut, splayed out 'Guild' style headstock and a soft 'V' shaped neck profile. This 1979 model is in truly fantastic condition with only some very light scratches and swirls to show for its 45+ years (too small to catch on pictures). Frets and fretboard and in equally great condition and with good action this guitar plays and sounds great. And to complete the package it comes complete with its original Ibanez hard case.
